Configuration help

If you go over the blue question mark with the cursor a help text will appear which describes the function of the setting shortly.

Static information

NediImport checks the version numbers of Nedi and GLPI. If there is a version for which the NediImport version is not created, it will not run. This feature is implemented because even small changes to the Nedi-Webinterface or the GLPI database can make the plugin working improperly. In the worst case it can lead to data-loss in GLPI. This part is not really a setting, it shows only which version of Nedi and GLPI will be allowed to run with the actual NediImport plugin.

URL to Nedi webinterface

Enter here the URL to the Nedi-Webinterface. NediImport works with http:// and https:// protocols. If you enter the URL (i.e. http://example.com/nedi) it does not matter if at the end the '/' is written or not. It is also possible to enter an IP instead of a domain name.

User for Nedi webinterface

Write the username of the user in Nedi with which NediImport should log in to the Nedi-Webinterface. NediImport only needs read access on all switches which should be possible to import. It is better to create a new user in Nedi instead of using the admin account to prevent that the plugin can change something.

Password for Nedi webinterface

Enter the password for the user of Nedi. Important: The password is stored in plain text in the GLPI database! So users which have access to the database are able to read the password.

Time when a computer imported by Nedi Import will be considered as inactive

Each computer in Nedi has a last seen value. Here you can select after how many days passed since the last seen the computer will be considered as inactive. That means after this time a computer can be viewed under the menupoint 'Inactive computers' and can be deleted there. NediImport will not delete any computer automatically!
The standard value is 365 days.

Time when a networkequipment imported by Nedi Import will be considered as inactive

Each switch in Nedi has a last seen value. Here you can select after how many days passed since the last seen the switch will be considered as inactive. That means after this time a switch can be viewed under the menupoint 'Inactive networkequipments' and can be deleted there. NediImport will not delete any switch automatically!
The standard value is 7 days.

Administrator email for notifications

There are two cron tasks of NediImport in GLPI. One for the execution of the import and one for checking it. The checking cron is needed because there are many reasons that the execution cron can not finish correctly and hangs. So if the validation cron sees that the import is hanging. It will send an email to this administrator email account. Also see What to do if the cron hangs?.

Action to do on empty host names

Select which action NediImport should do if there is a computer with an empty host name (i.e. ' ', '-'). If you select 'ignore' the computer will not be imported to GLPI. If you select 'Execute user script' for each empty computer there will be the script located at 'glpi/plugins/nediimport/user/empty_computer.php' executed. There you can write your own function how to handle an empty computer name. Details how to work with this script are written in the comments in the file.

Connection to Nedi through a proxy

If the Nedi-Webinterface only is accessible through a proxy from the GLPI server, you can activate this feature. In the settings there will be two more rows to enter the proxy connection details. NediImport runs better if there is no proxy so it is recommended to use a proxy only if is really needed.

Proxy server to use

Enter the IP or the URL of the proxy server which should be used. Make sure if you have a Nedi-Webinterface which is accessed through https:// that the proxy server is enable for this.

Proxy port to use

Enter the port of the proxy server to use.

Ignore the version check of Nedi and GLPI

This feature deactivates the version controlling of Nedi and GLPI. So if you have to run the plugin with other Versions than these which are displayed in Configuration_help, you can deactivate the version check and you are able to use all functions of the plugin. But if something in the structure of the GLPI database or the Nedi-Webinterface has changed which is relevant for NediImport, the plugin will not run correctly anymore. It there is a new version of the NediImport plugin available you should download this and update it. If you deactivate the version check the running with changed versions of Nedi and GLPI can lead to errors during the import and in the worst case some informations can be lost.
So use this only when you know what you are doing and if you really need it!
